Top Reasons To Eat Watermelon

Hot weather is on its way & there's nothing I love more in the summer than watermelon. Not only is it insanely delicious & hydrating, it is perhaps one of the healthiest foods ever!


Watermelon is over 90% water, which means it's extremely low in calories, yet it is packed with essential vitamins. While I'm not implying you should eat watermelon instead of drinking water, it can certainly help attain your daily water requirements.

As if that's not enough, it can help you lose weight! If you're a boredom eater, grab some chopped up watermelon & snack away. With only about 25 calories per 1/4-lb, it's definitely healthier than the chips or pretzels you usually grab. Compare the amount to a quarter-pounder from McDonalds... it has over 500 calories!


Watermelon is said to improve your libido! It's contains citrulline, which has effects similar to Viagra. You're welcome ;-)


On a side note that I'm not sure how true it is, there has been talk that the Lycopene in watermelons is effective in prevening certain types of cancer.

The average US price for watermelon is 39-69 cents per pound. If you buy the whole watermelon as opposed to already chopped or sliced, you'll definitely get a better deal. It's an inexpensive treat that also helps save on vitamin supplements & possible future health costs!
